Taking it on the road: Citywide Arts Festival releases weekend performance schedule


MANCHESTER, NH – Monday was Day One of the inaugural Citywide Arts Festival, which included the unveiling of the revamped Cat Street.

It’s just getting started and there’s a lot more to come.

Below is a recap of the week’s activities culminating in next weekend’s road fair on Hanover Street.

Hunting monsters in mini murals

August 29 – September 16 @ Downtown Businesses

Community topics

September 15, 17 & 18 @ Currier Museum of Art

Let’s build something beautiful together! Currier invites community members to contribute to an ongoing, large-scale project that represents individuals and communities as a whole. Come help us build relationships by finding a sense of calm through this traditional craft. Extracts and Investigations: A collaborative NH dance performance

17:30 – 19:00 @ The Factory On Willow

FREE – Registration recommended. Fragments and Investigation invites the audience to watch three short segments of an evening dance called The Shire, performed by Nsquared Dance. 10am – 5pm @ Opera Block of Hanover Street

free – The Arts Festival will culminate in a free family-friendly road fair located at Hanover Street Opera Block (between Elm St. and Chestnut St.). The fair will include an art market featuring dozens of local artists, artisans and crafters, interactive art installations and experiences, live performances by local musicians and dancers, food trucks and events at all partner venues across the city.

Full Circle Opening Show at Mosaic Arts Collective

Mosaic Art Collective is hosting a grand opening and their first show titled Full Circle. This group show features southern NH artists responding to the theme of Full Circle and what it means to them. In addition to the week-long activities and events that are open to the public, the highlight of the festival is a dynamic street fair on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18, at the Hanover Street Opera Block.

The fair will include live entertainment, an art market and food vendors, as well as active art installations and experiences. The street fair is a FREE event for all ages.
